We finally have the necessary permits to start building again. It is now “grading’ time: we have to make the pad where the house will be built. It is more complicated than it looks: the area is dugout until we reach a depth level of proper consistency (pressure measurement). The removed earth is then wetted and mixed to offer an adequate consistency. As it is pushed back and graded over the pad, it has to be properly packed. Every now and then, as the level raises, an engineer measure the pad quality for consistency and pressure.

Nous avons finalement reçu les permis nécessaires pour reprendre la construction. Il s’agit maintenant de niveler la zone où la maison sera construite. C’est plus compliqué qu’il n’y parait: il faut tout d’abord creuser pour atteindre un niveau où la consistance et pression mesurée du sol est acceptable. Il faut ensuite mouiller la terre et la mélanger suffisamment pour avoir une homogénéité acceptable. La terre est ensuite repoussée sur la zone de construction et de temps en temps, un ingénieur mesure la consistance et pression des zones travaillées pour garantir le résultat.
